Kindred of the City of New Rochelle
As we can all testify to, big changes are happening within our city. Some of them for the better, and some of them for the worse. As I have said before, most of you have risen to meet the challenges you have faced, while others have failed to live up to their expectations. We have recently tackled one of the largest enemies we have faced so far, and recognition, both good, and bad, must be handed out.
For repeatedly facing any and all foes that have presented themselves to this domain, I want word spread throughout the city about how Jade of Clan Assamite is *Fearless. Every time New Rochelle has faced a threat Jade has always been on the front lines, willing and able, to take any actions required to defend the city from all comers, and for that, he has my respect and admiration. These actions have also had a drawback however. As we all saw the trauma of seeing so much death and blood has had a profound impact our Sheriff, and as such Jade has chosen to step down as Sheriff, to focus on his own well being for a while. As such Solstice was my first and only choice to step into the role of Sheriff, and I will name a new Scourge soon.
Combat can rattle even those of us with nerves of tempered steel, and some of us are not meant to be fighting on the frontlines, even though our hearts may long to be there to support our city. While I respect his courage for stepping up and fighting on the front lines with us, Corwin of Clan Brujah lost his cool, and his rage possibly cost a mortal life, and was a risk to the mission, and the Masquerade. As such, his name will no longer be *Feared, until such a time as he can show us that his control of his anger, is his again.
For his quick thinking in the face of danger, for putting the needs of the city, above his own needs, and for protecting the forward assault team from distractions and attacks from the rear, Dug of Clan Nosferatu is to be considered *Respected. Dug is a strong pillar within my domain, and I wish every to recognize all he has done, and continues to do, for all of us.
I would also like to personally thank Ken of Clan Setite for coming along and aiding us. His presence wasn't required, but it was noted and appreciated.
Finally I am greatly troubled by the actions of one member of my domain, someone, who until the evening of the raid, had been a shining example for all other kindred to follow. Nickolas of Clan Malkavian, having felt apparently that my Sheriff wasn't doing his job, exceeded his boundaries as Harpy and began an investigation into the disappearance of his clan mate Enzu, which is a power of the Sheriff. He then plans on stripping Primogen Eva of some of her standing within our sect for interfering in his "investigation". I look forward to hearing the proof he has to back up his actions, as they could have serious repercussions, for many within my domain.
Having made one egregious error in an evening, Nickolas then proceeded to sneak into the building with the assault teams, of which he was not a part, and after having told me that he was going to be supporting us by monitoring the alarms and security systems of EEW. Not only did he not follow through with his promise, which lead to the floor security team being ready for us, but he also appeared behind us during the combat, distracting some of my forces. Had he not done so we likely would have finished the assault quickly, and more efficiently, and with less loss of mortal life and risk to kindred life. Not only is his name no longer *Feared within our sect, I have to strongly suggest that my Primogen Council take a long, hard look at these matters, and consider if this is the kindred you want to represent our city as Harpy.
