Staff had the first of 3 staff meetings for Jan. We wanted to focus three nights to cover different aspects going forward. Last night was our talks on the directions we're going. Listed are the major points we talked about:
1. Modular plot. Staff will be coming up with plots that work on our end like an old D&D module. A simple frame work with a quick outline for the Story, Ic and OOC goals and Npcs involved and a small explination for their intentions. These will be posted in a place so that any staff member can see them or run them on the fly. This means a number of pcs can get involved with the plot with different sts. While this could be an issue, We've implimented a Quentin Tarantino approach to cover the same module being run at the same time ooc. In short it happens on the same night and day ic time frams are scewed, conflicting out comes will be handled by staff to create a continum. Unless there are pc driven actions or legit ic reaons pcs will not simply be screwed over in this process. The ultimate goal for staff with this is to allow any st to resolve outstanding plots for any group.
2.Staff. I know there has been some issue with staff getting back to people, or in some cases conflicting rules calls or approvals. To fix this Staff standing on a unified front. We have a mix of conservitive and Liberal staff so opinions differ. We agree that a baseline for how we handle responses going forward is the best approach. Any member of staff can handle responses to emails or approvals, Who ever catches them first will take care of them. We agree that simple and reasonable instances can be resovled quickly with out discussion. Further we have decided that if there is an instance where one of us may not agree with the descion of a another st you will be in formed and staff will work it out via email asap. The players of dch reserve the right to to have the rest of staff question any rulings we make, again any resonable and polite inquarries will be respected and taken care of asap.
3.We want to create a new standard for creating pcs, with out hindering creativity. Going forward we as staff support more unique concepts with more basic sheets. Characters who have an amazing concept and starting sheets with more core book and focused sheets will be approved and given ties with current modules to streamline into play. This is not to say we do not support Complex sheets or sheets with stuff from other books or materials. We believe getting the stuff from other matierials than the core is something for play, and will be supported. R&U and anything to pass through the org first will follow as it has allways been.
4.Coord Land: To have it open and offical, any one who requires or wants something from the org needs to initiate contact themselves with staff CC'd. We stand by your requests and our players but it is the players responsibility for the initial contact. In most cases players have already gathered our permission for what ever reason and are now running it through the coord office, we are for the most part needed for the nodd and the thumbs up. We stand by you in cases where reasonable requests are ignored or given undo friction.
5. Mission Statemet. I left this to the end. We have come to our statement our goal for dch.
Our Mission is that dch becomes a Sandbox that is shaped by the player base. We want to be able to say Yes more. And in cases where we have to say no have reasonable compromises so that our sandbox can continue to be a reflection of actions and desieres.
We don't expect every night to be perfect or smooth. Humans don't function that way. Nor can we make that promise.
What staff does promise is that we will make sure that every one who signs in will be treated fairly, and take an honest approach to handling the game, rules, and interactions with our player base.
Peace Love,
DCH Staff.
