Feedback Please!!!

by Lex

April 24th, 2015

Hello citizens of Dark Colony,

Staff has been discussing options to help support some of the Clans that receive little in the way of love and encourage interest in the 8 Clans of the Camarilla. Below is a few things that we've been discussing to use as additional Clan Advantages or to use as a mechanic for Clans who are ascendent (A Vampire the Requiem reference.) Give us the feedback and please be positive!

Lex

  • Toreador - The undisputed masters of snark, the Toreador have become expected to entertain courts with their lightning fast quips and occasional searing insult. Toreador characters may not have their personal Status negatively impacted due to any such quips or thinly veiled insults.
  • Ventrue - Lords of the night, the Ventrue are the pinnacle of any environment in which they lead. The power of their lineage and words are so potent that when using Dominate, their generation is considered one lower for the purposes of using it on kindred, furthermore, mortals (including ghouls) with a Willpower rating of less than 6 cannot resist their call at all.
  • Brujah - Brujah were once philosophers who sought a golden age for all of kindred kind. Their dreams were burned before them, leaving the Clan with nothing but ashes. This fury makes them dangerous when cornered. Brujah may spend temporary Self-Control to receive a retest in a physical challenge. Should the Brujah enter frenzy, they receive a free retest on all combat challenges until they finally exit frenzy.
  • Nosferatu - There is no such thing as secrets, just varying degrees to what the Nosferatu know. This uncanny skill of theirs is exemplified in their ability to get a detail on just about anything happening in a city.At the beginning of the night, the Nosferatu pc may ask one yes or no question of staff and expect an honest answer in regards to events or individuals in the city of Hartford.
  • Malkavian - The Malkavians are tapped into forces that even the Tremere cannot comprehend. Their insights and sensitivity to the Madness Network cause them to always seem to know when something is afoot. Malkavians always know when they are being watched. Any attempt to watch them with Scry, Way of Spirit, a hidden wraith etc instantly alerts the Malkavian, though they do not know what is watching them or how.
  • Gangrel - These vampires wear their beasts as a mantle, refusing to shun away from the monster that lurks in all Kindred. Gangrel PCs may possess one of the Mixed Blessings detailed in Clanbook Gangrel on pg.58.
  • Assamite - Coming from spiritual stock, the Clan has a long history of turning to faith in times of doubt. Once per night, as Assamite may spend ten minutes in uninterrupted prayer and refresh a single point of Willpower.
  • Tremere - The Tremere are widely considered the masters of Thaumaturgy, having distilled their practices into a highly efficient machine. When casting rituals in their chantry, Tremere receive a free retest to cast the ritual.

Community Focus "A World of Darkness"

by Lex

April 9th, 2015

We all know what the genre is and in truth, it can encompass a lot of things and move in many directions. What I would like to know is what sorts of directions do you envision your pcs going in with regard to the themes and moods of VTGM.

On a scale of 1-5 (5 being your favorite option) tell me what stories you want your pc to be featured in? Your choices are a follows:

  • Gothic Punk: Uzis, drug lords, black nail polish and trench coats. A vicious attitude with a relentlessly dark style. Where just beneath the surface of this awful society are cruel monsters crushing the spirits of the mortal populace under their 4 inch boot.
  • The End of Hartford as we Know it: Something is coming and THIS time it threatens to destroy the whole city FOREVER!!! Band together, solve the puzzles, race against time and develop significant emotional bonds along the way with your equally desperate peers.
  • For tonight, we dine in Hartford!!!: The Sabbat has eyed us hungrily for war since we took this grand bastion of Gothic Power and now it is time to stare them down and shout "This is Hartford!" Engage in cooperative play to attempt to thwart the actions of Caine's monsterous sword and even turn the fight back against the darkness in hopes of attaining the long covetted New Haven.
  • Delicious Decadence: The Court of Hartford is one of many secrets. Rivals circle each other like moths dancing about a flame, working tirelessly to tempt one another into the inferno waiting to end their misery. Engage in delicate political maneuvers and party harder than the mortal body can sustain.
  • 50 Shades of Darkness: Parted lips, fangs and irresistable personalities. This is all about playing sirens who can't help but play with the heart strings of mortals and even one another. These are stories od angst and depravity, meant to serve as dark romances.
  • Lords of Darkness: Total order instilled via absolute control of both the mortal flock and the courts of the vampires. This is about cults and institutions, ruling the world around them with an iron fist and heaven forbid one kingdom overlap another.
  • Too Fast, Too Dark: Over the top action and making it clear that while vampires don't necissarily fly, they are not so easily subjugated by gravity. Fast cars, shotguns and one liners. Live unlife in the fast lane.

There are others I'm sure but many of them can fall under one or more of these catagories. Choose and discuss!
