11 Dead in Related “Ritual Suicides” Near UConn
At least 11 total dead overnight, involving “ritual suicide and self-immolation,” police confirm.
by Owen Dempsey
Mansfield, Conn. -- Three more bodies discovered early this morning in a Bedlam Road residence have been linked to eight severely burned bodies found in the abandoned Depot Campus building at the University of Connecticut, according to police.
The bodies were discovered at 2:13 a.m. Friday inside XX Bedlam Road and appeared to be victims of a mutual suicide, according to Lt. Paul Vance of the Connecticut State Police. Authorities are not yet releasing the identities of the individuals, pending notification of next of kin, Vance said. However, neighbors confirmed that the address belonged to Paul and Linda Palombizio. Paul Palombizio is listed as a professor with the University of Connecticut’s Department of Anthropology.
At a press conference this morning, Vance confirmed that two individuals arrived at the address early this morning, and entered the home after becoming suspicious of foul play. Those individuals discovered the victims and contacted authorities; they are not currently under suspicion, but were held temporarily for questioning before being released, Vance said. The circumstances of the deaths led police to believe that the deceased committed “ritual suicide,” Vance told reporters.
“Currently circumstantial evidence at the scene has led us to believe that these deaths are related to the bodies found at the Depot Campus,” Vance said. “Similar objects and symbols were found at both scenes, and Major Crimes is currently investigating further connections.”
The eight bodies found at the Depot Campus were found late Thursday night by UConn security after responding to a report of a fire in the abandoned building. The bodies were badly burned in what police have described as a “bizarre act of mass self-immolation.” Identification found near the scene belonged to a group of eight UConn students who went missing in January 2002, police said.
“We are waiting on reports from the Medical Examiner’s Office, and don’t want to speculate further on the identities of the individuals found at the Depot Campus,” Vance said.
The Hartford Courant learned that the individuals who discovered the three bodies at the Bedlam Road residence were Andrew Wright and his teenage daughter, Maggie. In a statement to reporters following their release from police custody, Maggie said that it was circumstance that they were at the Palombizio residence and that they were glad that the bodies were found so quickly.
“Sometimes providence ensures that the right people are just where they need to be, just when they need to be there,” she said. “I am sorry that they died, and I hope that these are the last deaths. But I am glad that we could bring quick aid to the police in this matter. I hope their families can get some closure once they’re notified.”
Wright told the Hartford Courant that the three individuals appeared to have poisoned themselves, and were dead when they arrived.
Additional details on this story will be published as they are released.

Kindred of Hartford,
With the blessing of your Prince, and in the interest of mutual understanding and growth, I invite you all to join me this evening January 22nd 2016. For many years now there has been a great amount of misunderstanding, mistakes, and tribulation between our people. It is our hopes we may yet move forward in a partnership of understanding and mutual benefit. Only by opening ourselves up to you all can we hope to move beyond our past, and to move forward into a new future.
It is this new understanding of openness; I personally invite you all to come and join us this Friday evening. We invite you all to come and witness our religious proceedings. There is no need to partake or involve yourself. No, rather this invitation is one to open our doors to you all to see we have nothing to hide. That we in fact desire the same thing. To open our arms and welcome the possibility of a new relationship. All upstanding members of the Camarilla are invited to join us in celebration of our faith and religious practices. There is no catch or alter motive.
So please join us and see we are not whom you believe. That we truly are of the same mind. I hope to see you all there.

In the evening of January 16h, the Red Star shines brightly for several minutes, it's baleful glow casting malevolence at the earth, before it shatters and fades. It will be invisible to the naked eye at that point, but fragments of it will still exist, visible to telescope, appropriate supernatural perception, and the fragments are still present in the Umbrae.
A day or two later, news stories will circulate
"The plutino designated 28978 Ixion, near the outer orbit of Neptune and Pluto, appears to have undergone another change. Almost 15 years ago, it began to shine faintly red, becoming visible in the night sky and leading to its discovery. Scientists were unsure why this occurred, but most believe that an impact may have altered the surface of the small body, stripping away much of the surface, making it more reflective, and causing it to begin travelling measurably toward the inner solar system. Scientists are unsure whether a second impact occurred or if the stressed body simply finally broke apart under stress from the original impact, but they have confirmed that the 650km wide plutino has fractured into smaller pieces in a brief light show. This event is unusual, as quick changes are rare in astronomy and astrophysics, and most of those quick events involve stars going supernova and similar phenomena. Helen Riggs, astrophysicist with Mauna Kea Observatory, quipped 'It's quite an exciting event. It's important to remember that just because it happened somewhat near pluto's orbit doesn't mean it's anywhere near where the New Horizons probe was sent, it's actually almost on the opposite side of the solar system. We hope to get more data as to what happened, but it's going to require some careful and focused observations over quite a few years.'"
