Character Creation
Character Creation follows the guidelines laid out in Changeling 20 and the OWBN C20 MET conversion Packet. Characters begin with 60xp.
Open Availability: Boggans, Eshu, Ghille Dhu, Nockers, Pooka, Redcaps, Satyrs, Sluagh, Trolls, and Sidhe of Houses Dougal, Eiluned, Fiona, Gwydion, Liam, and Scathach.
Please note that Attribute Traits, Abilities, etc granted by Birthrights and House Boons allow a Character to exceed their normal maximums (Boggans may have Crafts x6, Redcaps can have Intimidation x6, etc). In the case of Birthrights that grant Abilities such as Crafts (the Nocker Birthright, for example), only the type of Crafts chosen for the Birthright may be raised to x6, not all types of Crafts.
For other concepts, please speak with a Storyteller and have an idea of your background.
Restricted Backgrounds:
- Holdings. Freehold membership will be earned in character, at which point the Holdings background may become available.
- Title. Any PC wishing to begin with a title higher than x2 must be part of a fealty chain. Knights errant are acceptable - speak to us about some of the knightly orders! - but Squires (Title x1) should be sworn to a Knight.
- Influence. Many Influences are inherently banal - please speak to us about any Influences you may want.
- Treasure. At Character Creation, you may freely purchase one Treasure, rated between 1-5 points. Please look over the Treasure Guidelines above and have a rough idea of what you want, to discuss with staff.
Arts
Characters choose three (3) Arts at Character Creation which are their 'natural' Arts; these may be improved without a teacher. Any other Arts must be taught by another Changeling.
Restricted Arts (Commoners): Chronos, Naming, Sovereign
Restricted Arts (Nobles): Chicanery, Metamorphosis
OWBN R&U Restrictions
Please note that Chronos, Naming, and the 5th level of Spring are Coordinator Approval, and the Ghille Duh Kith are classified as Coordinator Notification by OWBN Bylaws; the Selkie Kith is classified as Rare, and requires a Council Vote.

Teaser: Game 2/27/2016 - Imbolc

Our first game will take place on February 27th, this coming Saturday, at the Cosmic Omelette Art Gallery (485 Hartford Rd, Manchester, CT 06040), from 2:30pm to 6:30pm.
In Character, the session will take place on February 2nd, on the Fae holiday of Imbolc:
"Imbolc is a festival that celebrates the Balefire, and its replenishment as the long darkness of Winter comes to an end. Also known as "Bard's Day", Imbolc is celebrated with competitions among bards, minstrels and other performers. Originally sacred to the goddess Brigid, the patroness of fire, smithing and poetry, this festival honours the creative spirit. During Yule (the winter solstice, also called "Midwinter's Night"), travellers, called Firebrands, depart from Tara-Nar, carrying lanterns that contain fire from the Well of Flame. These lanterns are delivered to every Freehold in the land, and used to replenish their Balefire during the Imbolc ceremony. It is a bad omen if the Firebrands fail to make their appearance at a Freehold before Imbolc."
What this means for you:
- All Freeholds in the Duchy of Mirrors (Connecticut) are out. None are currently providing Glamour. When the Torchbearer arrives, the Freeholds may be relit.
- No one may claim Glamour from the Holdings Background this month, use that Background to remove Banality, or to heal
In addition to the normal festivities surrounding the holiday, Lady Sacha ni Liam has called the Fae of the Duchy to her Freehold of Graymere Glen, located in the haunted woods of Dudleytown, in Cornwall, Ct. With the approval of the Duke, she is preparing to hand off her Oath of Guardianship over the Freehold, as she is now very close to forgetting herself.
In other news, the Trods leading to the Devil's Hopyard Freehold have recently become overgrown with thorny hedges which loom above the silver path ominously, and the State of Connecticut has been considering selling off the State Park within which the Freehold is located...

Thank you and 1st Game
February 21st, 2016
Thank you to everyone who came to the character creation night! We got a lot done: made a bunch of characters, talked about how magic works, statted out treasures and chimera, ate pizza, and provided a healthy financial cushion for a game that is just starting out.
We've decided to hold off on drawing for the raffle until the first game on Saturday, so as to give anyone who wasn't at the character creation session another chance to participate.
We'll make a post about game #1 shortly to provide some IC setting details!
