Domain Wars! For Realsies! (and an incomplete changelog for the houserules)
September 16th, 2013
The new set of House Rules came with the long promised addition of a territories system! We're moving away from the old googlemaps overlay that no one could load and towards a new map which has been up on the chronicle page for a while, which is a neighborhood map of New York City. You can start staking your claims as of like, last week! Woo!
Staff has yet to discuss if/how we will handle the grandfathering of long established claims. If you think you or your pack is eligible for such, please note what domains (borough and number) you think you should have and we'll take it into account when we do have that discussion. Meanwhile, get to gobbling up all the land in our crowded little city!
Also, EVEN IF YOU DO NOT CLAIM TERRITORY, we need to know where your character feeds. If we don't get a declaration from you, STAFF WILL MAKE ITS OWN DETERMINATION.
Also, I'd like to highlight some of the biggest changes to the House Rules, even though that's already been done a bit:
1: Chimerstry requires a chop now, as per the book. Autosuccess on levels 1-3 is no longer a thing.
2: Potency of Blood (and similar powers) no longer fills up your expanded blood pool. If you had 10/11 blood at 12th gen and blood down to 9, now you have 10/14, not 13/14. Woo!
3: There are no longer any powers that allow a PC to bid more than 30 traits. Not even Pater Szlachta. (If you're calling 30 traits anyway you should definitely make sure you've got your counting right)
4: We now use Dark Epics exclusively for weapons and similar items. Weapons not found in Dark Epics will function as their nearest equivalent in KoNY, with allowances made for our very streamlined crafting rules.
5: Initiative is now more streamlined! Your initiative number is equal to the number of traits you possess for your action--EXCLUDING "BONUS" TRAITS. Celerity goes before no Celerity, but no longer do all the fleetness havers go before all the legerity havers before all Rapidity havers etc etc. Doing initiative 5 times every time was bad!
6: Vicissitude 5 now goes off at the end of the round. Therefore KoNY no longer allows "Blood Aegis"
7: Blood Tempering functions as per the book, not the unofficial combo guide. That means Blood Tempered Armor has 1 more health level than normal, not 5.
8: Heaps of other stuff! Read the rules! Keep a copy in your pocket! They are your buddies! And so is staff! And narrators! (especially them!)
