October 27th.
A benefit to raise money for Hartford Children's Hospital is held at the Mark Twain House located in the Asylum Hill District, Tents are sent up outdoors and the interior prepped for a large onslaught of bigger names in the Connecticut Lifestyle. Gourds are be strewn about, mixed with lilt Jack o' Laterns carved by the children of the Hospital and other laterns carved by professional artists. Costumed attendants pass drinks and appetizers while dressed in classy hallowween garb.
There is a live pit orchestra playing renditions of spooky themes from movies and covers of newer pop music. A Wine Bar is availble, and a buffet with autumn themed meals includeing both vegitarian and gluten free options, as well as a Dessert Table closer to the end of the night. Proceeds of Tickets/Donations-at-door and an Auction of Gift Baskets, Art, Furniture and other fine goods from Connecticut and Local Bussiness raise money for the hospital
Attendees include politicians, the police comissioner and cheif, and even (briefly) Governer Rell, many from the arts scene attend.
Several PC's and named NPC's are there as well. Due to the very public nature of this event, I'm listing you here for all to see, as well as the influence bumps you're receiving:

Every clan gets an advantage at character creation, and has a second one that can be aquired in play. As a staff, we've examined the actions of every character in the game in detail, and assigned them levels in their clan advantage. These are available at sign in, and you can check the wiki page for your clan for the effects. They're pretty good.
Some clans are harder than others to raise your clan advantage level, and please keep in mind that these can both rise and fall as your character goes through changes in outlook, philosophy, action, and station.

As usual, please recall that the following only exists in the game universe, and is not real:
At approximately 11 pm on Saturday October 13th, Baltimore MD was struck by a nuclear explosion. A twelve block area centered on the Inner Harbor was destroyed, and radiation has rendered the city functionally uninhabitable.
Needless to say, but this will be repeated in opening announcements. Expect consequences of this occurrence to exist :-D

We're planning out how we want to run the NY downtime. If you're going to be involved, which you decide, then please place a post entitled "NY" in your journal, with what you plan to do. We ask that you separate your NY post like this so we can have a planning meeting on the subject and have it all together. We'll post again when we have a time and place when this will be run, probably between the October and November games.
