Haunted Circus is Huge hit in Hartford

With the coming Halloween season a new attraction has arrived in Hartford which draws hundreds of attendants nightly.  The event known as the “Psycho Circus” has delved into the history of Hartford and seemed to struck a cord with the people here.  Praised for it’s unprecedented level of special effects, actors, and dedication, the haunted circus runs seven days a week all night long to accommodate the large crowds of Halloween lovers that wish to experience this one of a kind haunted house.

When asked for comment, the owner and ringmaster of the event Jordan Barnum (an play on the rather famous normal circus), about the event and the groups dedication to detail and realism he replied, “Well we just all love Halloween, and we want to give people a show like they haven’t ever seen before.  We make sure to go out of our way to hire different actors each night.  That way each time you go it’s never the same.  We also try to go for an extreme level of realism with the event, and our special effects team is an amazing group that has worked for years on Hollywood Horror movies, so they know what they are doing for sure.  Defiantly though this event is not for the faint hearted and those that scare easy.  Only the real Halloween nuts will be sure to love and appreciate this event.”

One thing is for sure is this event’s popularity is growing by leaps and bounds. Drawing hundreds of people from all over New England as well as other parts of the country Hartford has received a nice boom in local business due to the haunted circus. As stated by the owner this event is not for those with heart conditions or can’t handle an extreme level of scare or fright should not attend this event.  For everyone else who loves the Halloween season this one event that you should not miss this season.

Christian Revival hits Hartford

A large congregation has rolled into Hartford of evangelical Christians who seek to restore faith to the city and spread the word of gospel to those who will listen.   Erecting a massive tent in Bushnell Park preacher Jonathan Newberry calls for all good people of Hartford to come forward and pray with him and his congregation.  Normally these events roll into Hartford all the time, however this event perhaps struck the city at the right time, either way the attendance and occurrence of these events is very large indeed.

When asked a local Hartford woman by the name of Rachel Avery as to what seems to draw her to the sermons she had this to say.  “I don’t know really, it’s like some sort of new faith has been restored in the city.  I mean one who looks around can see how desperate and bad the city has gotten.  It’s getting to the point where people don’t out at night anymore.  You have killings, kidnappings, missing children.  It’s all just so bad.  And then I dunno, it’s like this great light came into the city like a month ago, and I just felt like I should go back to church and pray.”

Some would question the timing of this revival and it’s correspondence with Halloween and the spirit of the holiday that has seem to over taken the city.  But when asked preacher Jonathan says he heard a call to come to Hartford and that he wishes those who engage in the holiday spirit a good time and prays they will perhaps find guidance in the word of the gospel.  These massive gathering of people from Hartford as for the Revival is expected to last all month if not longer due to rising popularity.  One thing is for sure, regardless of anyone’s beliefs this reporter is happy to report for once that hope has seemed to return to our city.

    Airraid Sirens

    by Mike Poirier

    July 23rd, 2009

*Airraid sirens can be heard throughout the city, wailing high pitched as a voice crackles over*

"Attention citizens of Hartford: This is the year when hope fails you.
The test subjects run the experiments and the bastard you know, is the hero you hate. But cohesion is possible if we try. There's no reason; there's no lesson; no time like the present; the City is of the free once again. This is not up for discussion.

    Good night.”

*With that the city goes dark and there is only silence*
