Life Imitates film?
Hartford seems to have its own Batman on the loose. What seems would be straight out of a comic book movie, the city appears to have a masked vigilante who calls herself Vigil. While this reporter would think this was all just an elaborate prank, the stories all remain the same.
They say she walks the rooftops at night, hunting drug dealers and other criminals. And some say she is not alone. As of late, Hartford seems to be on an upturn of crime and murder, and many citizens are thankful for this bright ray of hope, that some claim Vigil is. Others, however, say that she is probably just some child who saw one to many comic book movies and is in real danger of getting hurt by the violent under city of Hartford.
Hartford police department has stated that it is against the law for any citizen too perform acts of vigilantism, even if they are well natured in intent. Police chief Daryl K. Roberts has asked anyone who might know the identity of Vigil to please step forward so they may remove the danger that this individual is risking to themselves and others.

Ironic names found in odd murder
On occasion life imamates art, but oddly enough a murder imamates the bible. Last night at around 11pm, just outside the Webster Theatre suspect Cain Valdez, age 23, murdered his fellow gang member Abel Sandoza. For reasons unknown the two individuals got into a heated argument in the parking lot of the Webster underground, and witnesses say turned into a brawl between the two. Cain’s weapon of choice in the conflict, a concrete rock found in the parking lot. The eerie nature of this crime even goes farther in that those who claim to know them, that both considered each other there brothers. Sources close to victim say that both Cain and Abel were members of the large MS13 gang that seems to plague Hartford. Authorities claim this event has nothing to do with the near riot that occurred several weeks ago at the Webster underground, and is an isolated event. Most worry that the spiral of violence and murder in the city, which only seems to be getting worse, is far from over.

Oddities at the Institute of Living
Recently at Hartford’s mental hospital, the Institute of Living, not only are the residents claiming odd events but the staff is as well. The hospital of late seems to be cursed with a very intelligent prankster as broken mirrors and bloody hand prints appear all over the compound. While the security tapes can offer no clarity into these odd events, this has resulted in a few superstitious people to claim that the hospital has recently become haunted. While most rationale individuals will come to the clear conclusion that these events are simply done by someone very real, who simply knows the layout of the compound, one can not argue in the very eerie nature of the words “say my name 3 times” is unsettling at best. The Hartford Police department as well as the Hospital security staff are currently investigating the matter and hope to come up with a culprit soon.

Gruesome murder leads to disturbing trend
Late last Saturday night police found several bodies on South Chapel Street by the Hartford Stage company. The victim’s, whose identities are those of the cities several better known prostitutes, had their bodies gruesomely displayed outside the steps of the theatre company. Experts claim the bodies of the victims were all missing several organs as well as severe mutilation of their gentile. Some people believe this is the work of individuals who have grown to no longer tolerate the sin that has over taken the city, which started with the disappearance of young Rebecca Mayne a month ago. Others claim it is but another piece to the mystery of the underground slave ring others claim to exist within the city. Either way these crimes seem to emulate another legend not native to this city, but one of England. All this reporter knows is the city seems to keep slipping closer and closer off the edge of a decent place to live, into a den of snakes. At this rate there seems little hope for these horrible events to subside any time soon.

Gas Main Explodes under Park (Report aired April 24th)
Late Night Friday a horrible accident happened right here in Hartford injuring several people. A gas line running underneath Elizabeth Park exploded, causing the destruction of the Gazebo located in the rose garden as well as injuring several individuals. CL&P are currently investigating the cause of the explosion and the park is currently closed to the public until the gas line can be fixed and the investigation is complete. Several individuals remain in critical condition in Hartford Hospital as authorities wait to question them in hopes of finding what may have caused this accident.

Weight of years showing on Buildings (Reported May 3)
Several buildings of great age in Hartford seem to finally be showing signs of their ageand slowly falling apart. Some of the oldest buildings in the city seem to be rapidly decaying and falling to pieces, which experts believe may be leading to the destruction of the historic section of Hartford. Experts seem to think that a new aggressive form of algae and bacteria has come into the city causing this sudden form of decay. While searching for a way to combat this new situation these buildings owners do all they can to repair the damage being done. When asked to comment Mayor Eddie Perez said Hartford can not lose its history and he will do everything in his power and the city’s budget to help repair these old buildings. Experts also believe that even the newer more modern buildings in Hartford will not be immune to this new problem, and that soon they too will begin to become effected.

Young girl found Missing (Reported April 24th)
Friday Night under the constant vigil from the Catholic church and fellow religious communities, Rebecca Mayne age 15 was abducted from Hartford Hospital. Rebecca who been held on Life support after being rescued from her traumatic ordeal, was removed from her hospital room even while it was under constant watch by the Hartford Police department. Her whereabouts are currently unknown, but doctors say that being moved and taking her off life support give her little chances of survival. Mysteriously the Hospitals’ security footage from the time of the abduction is also missing. Police are asking anyone with any information to please come forward in their investigations. Some suspect that one Victor “Dino” Akhmetov may have returned to finish what he had started. Police seek his current where abouts and again ask anyone with information to please come forward and help in the investigation.
Before Rebecca’s abduction the city stood on a precipice in the struggle to maintain the question of what is ethical and right about Rebecca’s poor situation. Now the city seems to be on the verge of riot over her abduction. A Frenzy has seem to almost over taken the city in the search for poor Rebecca. Their have been numerous reports of Vigilante justice in the city at any one who might be involved. Those specifically targeted seems to be those who are part of the cities underground gothic and fetish culture. While no deaths have occurred, numerous cases of assaults against these individuals have poured into the Hartford Police Station. Some would argue these crimes default to a hate crime as they are targeting a specific group of individuals, not based on race or religion but on how they choose to dress and act. Either way if something isn’t done soon, this reporter can only see more violence lying ahead for our city.

(OOC: This special breaking News Report airs on Saturday night April 18th 2009. Again the Reporter is none other then Heather Hegedus from the last report.)
In what appears to be a continuation of what has been dubbed “The Twilight Murders” 38 year old Joey Deane was found murdered outside the Hartford Civic Center last Saturday evening. The body of Joey Deane was found late tonight by the Hartford Police department. The crime appears almost to be of exact duplicate to a murder not one month ago in front of the Hartford Convention Center. The victims all appeared sprawled out with arms crossed as if to send a message to the city of Hartford. In addition to this odd formation the bodies have all been found to be insanguinated with two points of impact around the neck, as if to implicate a vampire. While this reporter does not believe in the existence of the supernatural, one must admit it is rather odd. One can only deduce that due to recent popularity of the vampire subculture these strings of murders are not unconnected to that phenomenon.
More importantly the victim Joey Deane was arrested and charged several weeks ago with the kidnapping and sexual assault of Rebecca Mayne, along with the now infamous Victor “Dino” Akhmetov. Victor “Dino” Akhmetov had been bailed shortly after his arrest as well as Joey Deane. Both individuals had gone to ground so to speak and seemed to disappear off the map. Some suspect that some of the Hartford Police department may be corrupt and that the two would have been acquitted of all charges. These turns of events are not surprising for what seems like a city taking a turn for the worse. Perhaps a vigilante has taken hold in our fair city and is deciding to take justice into his or her own hands. As the city debates the fate of poor Rebecca Mayne, this Reporter intends to get to the bottom of this rot that seems to be plaguing our great city.

So this Saturday I will be running a little scene/plot for any and all player interested in attending :-) For those interested it will be at Hartford's Elizabeth park at around 3:30ish.
I can not divulge any info as what I'm actually running but it will be a surprise. It does have to do heavily with the plots going on in Hartford and I promise good times. Don't need to bring your sheets, but doesn't hurt either.

(::OOC :: This news report appears on the 11pm news on wfsb. The reporter is Heather Hegedus, a tall attractive blonde probably in her mid to late twenties known to go after the hard hitting stories few will follow up on. Last month she reported on the Hartford Convention center murder which lead to the creation of the murder known as the Twilight murders, dubbed so due to the nature of the murders seemingly vampiric. The story is that of a sick human who thinks he is a vampire, not actually supernatural. See the actual real life story of Rod Ferrell to get an idea.)
Rebecca Mayne, age 15, lies in a coma on life support in Hartford Hospital after being rescued. On Friday April 10th, Hartford Homicide detective Jack Sawyer found and rescued Rebecca from what appears to be an underground illegal pornographic ring. Rebecca was missing since last October, after running away from home, was brought to Hartford Hospital after being rescued. The doctors found several drugs injected into the young girl’s system which had caused her to over dose and slip into a coma that night. Rebecca is currently considered in stable yet declining condition and is being kept on life support.
Rebecca is but one of many young people who have gone missing as of late in the insurance capital of the world. Most have been linked to what some officials claim is underground white slave trade or explicit illegal sexual uses. Reportedly Rebecca was rescued during the middle of, horrifically enough, a so called “snuff” film. Though “Snuff” films are considered urban legend at best, some believe there is some truth to the myth.
Though spoken in hushed whispers among those in the exotic underground fetish community in Hartford, it is said there are places in the city to go for one to find the most extreme and illegal forums of sin one can find. Leading this den of sin is a man by the name of Victor “Dino” Akhmetov, famous for his underground works of extreme fetish pornography. “Dino” who take his nick name after the main pornographer in the film 8mm, was arrested on Friday for the kidnapping and filming of Rebecca. A second man involved with the crime has not had his identity released to the public. Victor “Dino” Akhmetov was released from prison on Monday on bond.
Sadly this horrific tale seems destined to end in tragedy as Victor is released from jail and there seems little hope for young Rebecca. Now the tough choice falls upon the shoulders of Rebecca’s parents. The doctors give little hope of Rebecca’s recovery and chances are she will have to remain on life support indefinitely. A debate has begun to spark in the city of Hartford as to wither or not the poor girl should be taken off life support and allowed to pass on peacefully or hold out in hope that perhaps a miracle will happen and she will pull through.
Each day hundreds of people go missing in this country and Hartford is sadly not immune to this epidemic. If you or anyone has any information that can help too recover these poor lost souls please contact the Hartford Police department at 555-5555.

Hey look everyone I'm on the staff for the Hartford Puppet Prince page...sweeet. I rule.
Anywho, some of you had started posting stuff in your journals etc, just wanted to let you all know I do actually like that stuff and enjoy reading it when incredibly bored at work. So keep it up.
