Dark Colony: Hartford is an OWBN Camarilla Vampire Larp set in Hartford, CT. The longest running continous OWBN game in New England. DC:H is a continuation of the vampire chronicles Court of Storms and Hartford by Night (started in 1998). Set to the World of Darkness theme for Gothic Punk Personal Horror. We play every fourth Friday of the month, and aim to give you dark tales of horror, set to the back drop of a classic world of darkness.

Announcement from the Prince of Hartford. (Obviously for those confused by what this means… this is a letter that goes to the Camarilla PCs that are Acknowledged and live in the Hartford Domain and chronicle.)

To the citizens of the Domain of Hartford,
As many of you know, we have a gala coming up in November. Saturday night shall be Hartford's night to shine, and I am looking for all manner of entertainment options. I have asked that the Primogen of Clan Toreador, James Norton, to take lead on acquiring artists of his Clan to support this event: art galleries, or performances are most encouraged and welcomed. Please speak with our most Respected Primogen should you desire to aid in this endeavor, for the arts are a great part of our Elysiums.
I would also encourage that should anyone else desire to provide entertainment, I would review such offers. In the past there have been poker tournaments, chess tournaments, auctions, political forums and debates, etc. I would very much like to run a playful and theatrical game: might anyone be interested in running an (obviously Elysium-friendly) Murder mystery game? Or perhaps a Brujah rave…
There are some additional points of business to bring up.
- Keeper of Elysium: I shall begin to accept applications for a full-time Keeper of Elysium. As we will be hosting a major Elysium in November, it is important that we fill this position. If you are interested, please send me a private missive as to what your thoughts are on how Elysiums are to be held and maintained. Send to: [ooc: archonselene "at" gmail.com]
- Primogen of Clan Tremere: I shall review options for this in October. I challenge Clan Tremere to provide me with an honorable and trustworthy candidate that I would appoint to my Council of advisors.
- Scourge of Hartford: I would thank Joseph von Hildebrandt for his service. I now name Don Santiago of the Children of Haqim as Scourge of the city of Hartford.
- Sheriff of Hartford: I will be accepting applications for the Sheriff of Hartford. If you are interested, please send me a private missive as to what your thoughts are on how the right arm of the Prince ought conduct themselves on business. I do not seek simply a "beat stick" but rather an intelligent individual who is capable of investigation and will work well with the rest of my city officers.
- Harpy of Hartford: I understand that the Primogen Council is in the process of selecting a new Harpy. I would encourage the Primogen Council to select a Harpy that is able to communicate on a national level and impeccable communication skills to those outside of our Domain as we are going to be hosting a national event in two months.
- Keeper of the Arcanum: This is a new court position that I am establishing in Hartford, however, it bears no formal positional status within our Sect. It is, however, a courtly position seen in decades past for the occult advisor to the Prince. I name Rani Massoud of the Children of Haqim to this position, and thank her for the works that she has volunteered to aid the city with. She has been working with the Tremere Caia Wickham in transference of city occult investigations and information to ensure that in the Archon's new role the city is not left without an advisor. In the capacity of this job, if Rani is doing an investigation of the city, I ask that you give her your full cooperation, lest I be offended at your impediment.
- Status: Many individuals are doing good things for the city. I wish to recognize them, but have not heard reports as to what they have done. Communicate with your Primogen, who are my advisors on their Clans, so that my Primogen may recommend individuals to me for their service and dedication to the Domain. It is with our combined efforts that we, as a Society, shall thrive, and I thank the citizens of this great Domain for their help defending our home.
- Scandal: As many of you know that Natascia succumbed to frenzy on Elysium last gathering. As I am Well-Known, she shall no longer be seen as Admired.* I would thank Tara O'Brien for her diligent work as temporary Keeper and for her investigations into the topic.
- Behavior on Elysiums: It is my opinion of Elysium that should we have an unfortunate incident of a Kindred losing themselves to their Beast, we cannot simply permit individuals to frenzy freely… yet it ought be dealt with in a peaceful manner (this includes but is not limited to talking them down, a quelling of their beast, holding them so they can do no harm, etc). Should there be a violent method of resolving such an unfortunate incident, such as staking, beating into torpor, etc, as you are all aware: such violence is not permitted upon Elysium and will also be considered a breach of Elysium. I would also echo the wise words of Primogen Tara that should there be individuals who prove to be unable to control themselves, they are not welcome on our sacred Elysiums. While an occasional mistake may happen, we are not base monsters and should be able to act appropriately and repeat offenders shall face escalating consequences from myself. We have a very important gathering in November, and I will not look favorably upon any who lose themselves on Elysium.
As for our gathering next week, I have asked elder Elise Linden to host an informal party for the Domain. She intends to speak on the topic of Elysium, our November parties, etc. I may be late to the party, but it is my demand that elder Linden is treated with all due respect.

Police left baffled by late night accident

When officer Monahan reported to what he thought was going to be a routine accident he wasn't let down. Mostly. The report had come to him stating that a 2008 Hummer had crashed through a window at the corner of main and Pearl (People's Bank Investment Building) were correct. It did strike officer Monahan odd the amount of damage that had been done to the vehicle; it all but looked like it had gone through a compactor. However, the fact that stood out most, was that the window the vehicle crashed through was a third floor window. 'Eye Witnesses' claimed there were two impacts (having heard two distinct crashes). Police are currantly checking to see if there were any car haulers in the area for the Hummer to have used as a ramp to hit so high.
Two bodies were found in the vehicle as well. The names have not been released; pending both coreners reports, and notification of next of kin.

The streets are crawling with increased police presence and federal agents. They are working in collaboration across the city. Nightly feeding has become difficult. What was once comfortable habit, rote, or ritual has become frustrating. This need to be more cautious, to maintain a low profile, is causing the hunger to creep up on many of the domains citizens.
ALL characters will be down FOUR blood traits AFTER throwing thier feeding challenge at game.

All journal entries posted in August to this point have been hit. If you need a response to anything please post in character journal or bump it by 08.17.12 (this Friday) so staff has the chance to respond prior to game this month.
If people could, over the next few weeks to month, take the time to post a simple journal entry on thier toon to let us know they are an active character, wether based here or not, that would be appreciated. Include for us, your lovely staff, if you are based here also please. :) We are going to be doing some book keeping and would appreciate player help in getting our ducks in a row, we don't want the bums to disappear, they are needed to keep ducks in a row...
Also, who/what/where/when/how/why is the IC location this month? Forewarned is forearmed and all that... Plus we can get a few pics up and some descriptions.
