Boston Poll: Averness' Sermons of Caine

by Christory Book

November 23rd, 2012

Averness holds regular Sermons during down time. We would like to know for us as a staff (and for you as players for flavor) how often do you attend the services of the Archbishop?

Please comment here by voting "Always", "Most of the Time", "Sometimes", or "Never"

Unless you really feel the need to expand further on that answer, please leave it to one of those votes.

Thanks!

IC: From the Desk of Bishop Alvara

by Dave N

November 21st, 2012

Its times like these that cause me to look at the past, be it for inspiration, to remember the good times , or to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice so we could carry on the fight tonight. I remember almost a year ago, when we were holed up and on our heels with the Neo-Carthaginians at our doorstep. I remember the fateful ride of the late Bishop Grey and the team he brought to North Hampton. I remember the frantic phone calls that they were ambushed and then the feeling of two bishops leaving this world, so that their brothers and sisters could rally.

I remember the look in everyone's eyes that night, and it was then that I knew that the legend of Boston was true, that it was an unstoppable war machine whose mere name caused its enemies to not sleep. I remember the war party, I remember the absolute destruction of, not one but two, captive city defenses in one night. I remember within two months time after that, the final city secummed to the invasion. I remember never being so proud of all of you. We owned the night! We were the Sword of Caine! We were Sabbat!

Some time later strange events started happening in sewers and the harbor. A new entity wanted a piece of Boston, wanted us to pay tribute to it. Once again, a member of the Clergy died in search of answers, this time at the hands of the Garou. We now have hunters and camarillans attacking us in our own city. It may be difficult to come to terms with, besieged in our city again, with an enemy we don't fully understand. Its difficult to mourn the loss of Bishop Young while the we are fighting multiple enemies within our own borders, yet it is something we all have to come to terms with.

I find myself grateful though, as I write this to all of you, looking up time an again and seeing my packmates, Chelsea and Leon. Its watching them that reminds me that there is something that the enemy cant take from any of us: Our Unity, Our Packs, Our Brothers and Sisters undying commitment to each other, Our Family. We honored the passing of Bishop Grey, and if you are seeing this Liam I miss you Brother, by destroying our enemies. I am demanding that we show the late Bishop Young the same respect, we carry on and we claim victory over our adversaries.

That starts tonight! These hunters and other vampires want to come to our city and wage war? Then so be it, but I refuse to stop being Sabbat because of it! I am not going to look over my shoulder every other step because some little juice bag with a gun thinks he's found a mark! I have a pack, I have my Brothers and Sisters watching my back, the same way I watch theirs! Its not just one Cainite they are jumping, they got to fight his whole pack.

The real travesty in this war has been that we started to change how we do things night to night. I am demanding that this be put to an end. I want all of you to go out with your packs tonight, I want you to Hunt, I want you to perform Ritae, I want you to show our enemies, who are watching, why this is our territory! I want to you to Revel! I want to feel the city shake from your revelry! More than that I want our enemies to shake with fear from your revelry. I want our departed Brothers and Sisters who are still watching over us to see your Revelry and know that those of us who carry on the fight tonight still own the night! When I step out tonight I want to feel the whole city tremble to the sound of “Praise Caine!”
