Good evening everyone.
This is your reminder to please post haven write ups if you have not done so. If you have one please bump it.
For those of you with out one here is a few tips on how to get started.
1) Where in the city do you haven?
Here is a link to help you out. http://wiki.wodgotham.com/images/e/e0/NYC_Neighborhoods.jpg
Owned propertyhouse? Home invasion or was it abandoned? Warhouse?
2) Protection
Alarm system, other type of warning system, Retainers human, animal, other?
3) Who stays at the haven?
Some packs haven in dog piles some have their own rooms in a haven,, some have their own places. Who gets the suite and whos in the bathtub?
4) Backgrounds make it or break it.
Resources, Haven, Retainers, Influence, other. What investments have been put into it.
In the end where your character sleeps does not always impact game time, but it can add a lot to the character or definition of a pack.
Examples
From the pack of modern day pirates that use a freight cargo ship and a few containers with a boat load of herd and retainers as their mobile nomadic haven.
The Street nomads that scout out a family and do a home invasion for some snacks and place to bunk down for a few days before moving on.
The high rolling Coven. With lots of investments owning one of the high rises in the city and havening on which ever floors they designant for the pack setting up layers of security for access.
The Code of Milan coven that sees to their brothers and sisters need for sucor, With a seedy motel or hotel that has a number of rooms always cutsom designed to fit the nomadic sabbats needs.
But I hear some of you asking why do I need to think about haven? I never/nearly never run scenes at my haven. Why would I need to think about that. Well two simple answers are most common. PVP, PVE and Bored STs. Rarely does it happen, but at times pvp can happen where someone sets up or does a haven raid. This can happen for all the same reasons be it pvp or pve.
Bored STs. Well to be fair its not always about if the staff is bored. Sometimes major plots resolve and the over whelmed staff can now focus on the finer details of things like how often x person or group has lost their bad things happens chops while feeding, who has the come fuck with me feeding flaws, who is a walking violation of the silence of the blood. As staff always seeks to develop more story for our players based off their merits and flaws. We also always want to make sure it is handled fairly and correctly.
That said please note awesome haven write ups with all the tricks and fancy protections are cool. They also require the xp be spent in the correct backgrounds/and or abilities or actions taken to develop these cool havens.
Last thing anyone wants is for a review to happen and the abandoned studio bedroom appartment you were shacking up in to have a renter come by to show it find your "corpse" and call the cops and then that nice detective just opens up the shades right on you to get some natural light in to see the crime scene. That folks is how simple it can be to lose your sheet. We your staff strongly always council you to make your characters well rounded and indepth so we can always have every tool to provide even better stories.
Remember only you can prevent day time GNC! Do a haven write up today.
