The Guns Fall Silent…

All across the world, Kindred watch and wait as the Sabbat maintains the promise of ceasefire. The battle lines drawn remain in place, with each side watching the other intensely, sensing that the bloodshed could begin again at any moment.

But the war must end, and both sides know this. The first offer to come to the negotiating table was treated with suspicion. But ArchBishop Cornelius has kept his word, and the Sabbat have not pressed their counter attack. The Imperator has gone silent, and his Myrmidons struggle to keep the Camarilla armies intact, their conscripted member’s loyalty being tenuous at best.

Several Justicars re-emerge, furious at their detainment, and while the Justicars of the Ventrue, Malkavians and Viziers have yet to make their voices heard, a unified call to negotiate has come from Theo Bell, backed by Madame Guil, Anastaz Di Zagreb and Stanford Warwick..

But Cornelius will not negotiate with Archons or Princes, he insists that the Justicars choose their representatives from the only city that truly earned the respect of the Sword of Caine during this war.

So, once again, the eyes of the Kindred world fall on New Haven. Which of its residents will be burdened with the authority to speak on behalf of their clan? And what wild inhumane demands will the Sabbat bring to the negotiating table?”

Next Game…

We will be running this month on the 16th of March, at our usual venue in Friendship Lodge in Southington. Doors open at 6pm and we aim to start game at around 7:30pm.

Downtime Actions

The deadline for downtime action submissions is Sunday 10th of March, to give us time to fully process your actions and get out the responses to you before start of game.

The Knife’s Edge…

The future of the Camarilla, the Sabbat and the security of all Kindred remains held in a delicate balance. A shaky ceasefire is all the keeps the bloodshed at bay. To achieve stability again, the two sects must come to the negotiating table and hammer out a new accord. But many questions still hang in the air…

How did the Sabbat rally back from defeat with such ferocity and effectiveness?

Will the Imperator sabotage the negotiations and continue to profit from war?

Can this new voice of reason in the Sword of Caine, Cornelius, be trusted?

Aside from the war, an Ancient sentience still resides somewhere in the Internet, its intentions remain a mystery. And one of the oldest kindred strongholds in the world, Great Britain, keeps its borders tightly closed, and denies any sects authority over it’s denizens.

On the streets of New Haven, a deadly drug claims many lives and the streets are rife with petty crime, as addicts turn to desperate measures for their next fix. But while the lowest of the people in the city suffer, the city itself prospers, as multiple new businesses emerge, bringing wealth and influence to the elite.

The future is clouded, the path ahead treacherous. But it must be walked.

After a rocky start to the year with the cancellation of January’s game, and operating on reduced ST manpower for February’s game, we are all excited for March’s game (on Saturday the 16th). Please submit your DTAs for February to March as soon as you can, and we will begin posting plot and story updates to Puppet over the next few weeks!

Nightmares is running this Saturday!

A Messy February

With the ice and snow disrupting our game last month, and then we have had two out of three storytellers laid up with a variety of winter sicknesses and for this weekends game, one of the STs will be visiting England. (You can probably guess which one of us that will be.) Coupled with that, January and February have just been crazy months all around for us.

So we are little late and disorganized with getting out our notifications for game, and for getting out our normal pre-game hints and plot hooks. But despite our reduced manpower for this game, we will still be running at our normal time, at the lodge.

If you want to put in your DTAs, if you haven’t already, or nudge us to complete DTAs from last month that got lost in the shuffle, then we will try to get something back to you before Saturday.

So, weather permitting this time, see you all Saturday!

Nightmares game this Saturday is cancelled!

Game is Cancelled… :-(

Unfortunately the weather reports haven’t improved, and with a lot of players (and one ST) coming from fair distance away, we have reluctantly decided to cancel tomorrow night’s event.

We’re sorry to disappoint you all, we were looking forward to it as well. We will update you with amended plot details and complete all outstanding DTAs over the next few days.

Incoming Winter storms and Saturday’s game.

Winter Weather Warning

Thanks to the joys of living in Connecticut in the winter, we are always at risk of being caught off guard by the weather. We are keeping an eye on the storm reports for Saturday, and there is a possibility that we may have to cancel Saturday night’s game.

We will let you know one way or the other, by tomorrow night.

Game this Saturday - January 19th!

To the Kindred of New Haven,

By now, I would hope that you had all heard the news. The battles for the cities of Danbury, Montreal, Charlotte and Detroit are over. The destructive conflicts that have savaged these domains, have come to an end. Within the space of only a few glorious hours, the hostile forces were driven away, and we were victorious. The Kine remained oblivious, the silence of the blood was maintained.

From these victories we have proved two things. Firstly we, the Sabbat, are not as toothless and wounded as you believed us to be. And secondly, the great Imperator Karsh is not the invulnerable hero he paints himself to be.

He rests now with what remains of his Grand Army, tending the many wounds that now scar his body. Just between us, I suspect many of you are as happy about this outcome as I am.

As many of you know, my voice has been one that has objected to this war from the very beginning. The amount of Vitae that has been spilled, on both sides, is a shameful waste. But I knew that the Sabbat could never surrender, we would rather die than give up the ways of the Dark Father.

We have retaken our cities, and we are ready to defend them. But with the authority given to me by Temoch the Jackal, I am withholding our forces from any further aggressive acts against the Camarillla. I am declaring a ceasefire. It is time to end this…

I have reached out to your Justicars, well, at least to those that have been able to free themselves from under the thumb of Karsh. I have asked them to select a representative of their clan from the population of New Haven. I, Cornelius and my coterie of wise advisors have been given authority to speak on behalf of the Sword of Caine.

I have asked for this, because I believe that only those who have truly faced the devastation of this war head on, have the drive necessary to bring it to an end. And no city has faced the true horror of this war more than yours.

Thus, I hope that we few can, over time, create a new set of Accords between our sects. To put a stop to this violence, which threatens all of our survival.

I ask you all to attend the opening of the negotiations, bring all in your domain if you wish to feel secure. We come with no violent intentions, but I accept that both sides will need to show their readiness to defend themselves. At least until a new trust is established. The negotiations will begin on the evening of Saturday the 19th of January, at a neutral location in the town of Ansonia. I only ask for a short hour of your time, I know you have a thrilling Toreador-led gathering to attend later that night.

New England Nightmares presents

The Price of Peace

Nightmares will be running on Saturday the 19th of January and we will be at the Lodge. Site will be open at 6pm and we will be aiming to start game at 7pm.

Dealing with the Devil

The initial in-game location will be in a Neutral location, just outside the city in an old abandoned Church in Ansonia. Orders from above in the Camarilla have required that all Kindred in the city be present, to ensure a proper ‘show of force’ is made, should Cornelius prove to be disingenuous in his offer of ceasefire.

After this short, initial meeting, the city will reconvene at a location downtown, where the Toreador will be hosting for the remainder of the evening.

Please get these in to us as soon as you can. In order to give us enough time to get proper responses out, the DTA deadline is Wednesday night. (16th January)

A Message from your Prince...

This message has been sent to all Camarilla Domains, via the Greater Harpy of each fiefdom, is it then distributed to all Kindred within that domain via hand delivered written scroll, as is traditional.

My fellow Kindred,

Indeed these are nights to be wary. As some others have recently told us, we should be wary. Be wary of those who would turn the Ivory Tower into a hollow shell of its former glory, ready to fall because its foundations have been eliminated. Wary of those who attempt to break our unity through fear, lies and misinformation. Wary of those who would snatch the victory of the Camarilla and thrust it into the jaws of defeat by discarding the very Traditions upon which our Strength, our Unity, our Ivory Tower was founded.

Do NOT give in to fear. Do NOT give in to the lies of those who attempt to position themselves to grab even more power in the moments after victory. Those who claim to be our guardian and servant should remember that a TRUE guardian and servant would actually be defending and serving the Traditions that we have all sworn to.

In the nights ahead, once victory is assured over the Sabbat, we must then ensure that the Guardians and Servants of the Ivory Tower are truly guarding and serving the Traditions. We must not allow any among us to place themselves above those Traditions in a transparent grab for power. Remember that the liar will accuse you of lying, the deceiver will accuse you of betrayal, those who lust for power will attempt to dismantle the Traditions in their way so none may oppose them.

May all of the true loyal servants and guardians of the Ivory Tower stand firmly together in the nights to come. May the Traditions guide and protect us all.
