From Lord Danesti

My dearest esteemed Sister and Brothers,

The Diocese of Bridgeport had fallen under a great dark cloud.  Many of its citizens subsumed by this darkness and lost forever.  However, this storm has passed.  With the last death of the usurpers the city of Bridgeport is finally free.  From the ashes of old we begin anew.  Ever changing, ever growing.  I seek not to be your King.  I seek to be a leader, one who joins you in the battles that are sure to come.  The one to listen to you and rebuild that which we have lost.  We must now hold each other up and stand on our own again as a city.  I do not seek the title of Archbishop for power.  I seek it to help my brothers and sisters.

As such I invite you, personally to our next esbat on July 7th in the year of our lord 2017.  I am to be bloodbathed as your new archbishop.  It shall be held at the Barnum Museum for all free Sabbat to attend.  We shall feast together and come together and celebrate as one Sword.  It is truly an Auspicious Night as fate would see to it.  Not only will this be a blood bath but it falls on the same night as an ancient celebration of the Tzimisce clan.  For that is evening is Kupala’s Night.  I personally will be performing this rite of my clan for all Sabbat to revel and indulge in.  We shall hunt as the Tzimisce Anarchs of old once did in the Land Beyond the Forest.  In this it will make this city and all of us stronger!

So please, come enjoy the festivities and join me in celebrating the rebirth of our city, Bridgeport.

News!

"An earthquake struck North Carolina on Sunday night June 3rd. Though there is a history of geological activity in North Carolina it was its location and magnitude that made it particularly problematic. The most recent earthquake in North Carolina that was noticed by a large number of people was a magnitude 2.9 earthquake shook portions of four counties southeast of Charlotte, nearly two weeks after the 9.0 quake that devastated Japan in March of 2011. The most powerful recorded quake was a magnitude 4.5 earthquake recorded about 30 miles west of Richmond, Va., that caused ripple effects in Raleigh and other parts of the Triangle in December of 2003. This quake was an unprecedented magnitude 5.8 that was centered in the Vass area of Moore County North Carolina. A quake of this magnitude would cause damage in areas of California that have specifically built resistant infrastructure and have services prepared for such an event. This region has no such infrastructure and was already facing serious structural issues and strains on emergency services due to repeated years of flooding. The most serious of these break downs was a dam very near the epicenter. Woodlake dam only recently shored up by construction projects and intervention by state government has experienced serious cracking in its foundation, prompting mass evacuations down river.

The quake was felt over a dozen counties, most of those reporting some form of structural damage. The location of this epicenter was a good distance East of surface fault lines that run through the state, but this does not come as a surprise to local geologists. Recent reports show the most sever activity in the region has occurred away from surface fault zones, indicating potential deeper and uncharted fault activity. Attempts to get funding for this research has met with serious obstacles in both government and private sectors. This event may change that. Currently reports have deaths listed just shy of 100, but it is still early. Injuries also still coming in currently number over 1000. Perhaps more serious the Harris Nuclear Plant is reporting damage to certain critical areas. This is the second nuclear scare within the last year after issues arose several months ago at the McGuire Nuclear Station. Several companies have already stepped forward with Charitable contributions and relief aid. One that stands out is the Carolina Innovative Food Ingredients, who's recent expansion in the area has left it in a position to provide locally sources food and other supplies to those affect, both through charitable contributions and emergency funding authorized by the State Governor under an Emergency Powers act."
